that conduct FCC amateur radio license examinations in Yokohama.

TIME:
Registration and Exams begin at 2:00pm
FEEs:
2,000円 (US$15.00) (will vary due to fluctuations in the exchange rate)
APPLICATION:

Please send the following information by e-mail to arrl_vec_yokohama@echo.ne.jp (Japanese or English)

1) Full Name
2) Current FCC License class (if any)
3) Exam element to take [Technician (Element 2), General (Element 3), Amateur Extra (Element 4)]
4) Contact email and telephone number (cell phone, etc.)
5) FCC Registration Number (FRN)
6) US mailing address.

Walk-Ins at the exam are allowed as long as seating is available. If there are NO pre-registrations for an exam session 10 days prior to the scheduled session date may be cancelled.

EXAM CANCELLATIONS
If there are NO pre-registrations for an exam session 10 days prior to the scheduled session date a decision may be made to cancel or postpone the session. In that event cancellation will be announced on the website.
REQUIRED ON THE EXAM DAY

Exam Fee (please have exact amount as change is not available)
Government issued photo ID (driver's license, passport, military ID etc…
FCC Amateur Radio License (if any) - ORIGINAL and ONE COPY
Certificates of Successful Completion of Examination (CSCE) [if any] - ORIGINAL and ONE COPY
Cetification of a handicap that will effect elements or testing (ie sight or hearing impairments, etc...)
Pencil, Calculator (memory must be cleared and checked by the examiners)

Note that a Government issued ID, a valid FRN, and a US mailing address are REQUIRED by the FCC and applicants will not be able to take an exam without providing these prior to taking the exam.

How to apply for an FRN

It is possible to register for an FRN using either a US mailing address, an APO/FPO, or your local address.

Follow these steps to register and receive your FRN...


Access the FCC ULS homepage at http://wireless.fcc.gov/uls and in NEW USERS section click the

In FCC Registration's REGISTER section click on

In the FRN Registration page "Are you registering as a business or as an individual?" select "An individual" and under "Is your contact address within the United States or its territories?" select "Yes"
(If you are registering with a foreign address then select "No")

Click on

Enter the requested information on the next page. In the "SSN" (Social security number) enter your SSN or, if you don't have one, in the "If you are not a US Citizen or otherwise do not have a Social Security Number, select a reason:" popup click the arrows and select「The individual is foreign」

Click on

Next a Confirmation Window will appear. Check it carefully.
In the next section input a password. You will also be asked for Contact Information and an address.
A window with your FRN will be displayed. Copy the FRN from this page. It might be a good idea to print the page for future reference as well.

The Exam session is accredited by the ARRL/VEC. The members of the Yokohama VE Team and any others involved in providing this service are strictly volunteers. Neither the Exam Session nor the Team is in any way connected with any particular business or other group.
